 The core concern is “What has enabled teen substance abuse, and how can society take steps to prevent it.” An absence of research and understanding of this chosen topic is dangerous as I incentivize the dangerous and lethal activities through ignorance. The Kiros of this topic is perfect in that Covid has supplied an alarming statistic of opioid and other dangerous drug overdoses and uses across not only the country but Arizona specifically. The audience is those who have experienced substance abuse first hand or second hand. The point of the research is to inspire change at an intimate level. The research I would like to conduct is interviews with people involved in substance abuse prevention, but also those who have experienced it. Through this process, I have redirected how I will get the research done and how it will turn out. However, the core of the project remains the same.
